Assault and Battery - defined as the unlawful attack or attempt to attack through force or violence to cause physical injury to another. Assault and battery can result from weapons or through the use of hands, fists, or feet.

Sex Offenses - include rape, statutory rape, possession of child pornography or other obscene material, lewd act with a child, child molestation, indecent exposure, lewd acts in public, solicitation of prostitution, pimping and sexual battery.

Juvenile Offenses - crimes committed by children under seventeen. Juveniles being investigated or charged with a crime are generally entitled to all the rights afforded to an adult.

White Collar Crimes - financial crimes typically carried out by business people, entrepreneurs, public officials, and professionals. White collar charges are usually brought against individuals, but corporations may also be subject to charges for these types of wrongdoing. White collar crimes can include money laundering, embezzlement, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, social security fraud, medicare/medicaid fraud, securities fraud, mail fraud, internet/cyber crimes, corruption, bank fraud and credit card fraud.

DUI (Driving Under the Influence) - whether it's called DUI, DWI or simply drunk driving, this crime is defined as operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol content exceeding the legal limit. In most states, the blood alcohol shall not reach .08 or higher. Often, accused drunk drivers are arrested at DUI checkpoints or roadblocks established by the state police.

Drug Crimes - in Indiana, these consist of possession, sale, use, trafficking, distribution, cultivation of any drug or intoxicating substance including marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin or any other substance. Prescription fraud is another common drug crime.

Weapons Violations - firearms violations in Indiana include possession of a concealed firearm, illegally discharging a firearm, waving a firearm, carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle, unlawful sale of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and other offenses.

Murder - also called homicide, this is the crime of intentionally and unjustifiably killing another. First-degree murder is a homicide committed with premeditation or in the course of a serious felony (e.g., kidnapping). Second and third-degree murder involves lesser degrees of intent. Murder is among the most serious criminal offenses in the Indiana legal system.

Manslaughter - a serious crime divided into voluntary (first-degree) and involuntary (second- and third-degree) manslaughter. A manslaughter charge is discernable from murder in that manslaughter is generally unintentional and unplanned.

Domestic Violence or Domestic Abuse - crimes involve an altercation between spouses, partners, people who are dating, and even the elderly.
